Adult Discipleship Environments

We are committed to teaching every believer how to obey every command that Jesus gave us. Creating environments for adults to study the Bible, heal from life’s hurts, and learn to follow Jesus is essential for our church’s future. Here are four ways we can enhance adult discipleship environments at Calvary:

1. CREATE A DEDICATED SPACE FOR SEASONED ADULTS

Our Seasoned Adults Ministry has become one of the most vibrant expressions of community at Calvary. What began in 2020 has grown into a thriving movement of members aged 60+ leveraging their wisdom for God’s kingdom. Creating dedicated space means honoring the generation that built this church by creating a 200-seat room to meet, gather, pray, and be launched into ministry. Ministry doesn’t diminish with age, it multiplies.

2. ADD ADDITIONAL CLASSROOMS FOR BIBLE STUDIES

Adults are hungrier for God’s Word than ever before. Bible studies are full. Small groups are multiplying. Adding classrooms means we can say “yes” to adults who want to grow. When we invest in opening four additional adult classrooms upstairs, we’re investing in spiritual maturity-creating space for God’s Word to transform more and more lives.

3. CREATE MID-SIZED GATHERING SPACE

Some of our fastest-growing ministries need flexible spaces for 250-300 people both on Sundays and throughout the week. This includes our ministry to those who speak Spanish, Russian, and Chinese, as well as Bible studies that have outgrown their current rooms. This space will become a hub of connection and discipleship where people can gather, grow, and leave transformed.

4. ADAPT WORSHIP CENTER WITH ACOUSTIC CURTAIN

Our worship center seats 3,000 people-perfect for weekend services. But its size can work against smaller events. Installing an acoustic curtain system will create an intimate 1,000-seat environment when needed. This means larger memorial services can feel more reverent, and we achieve better sound and atmosphere. Flexibility is multiplication, where one space becomes two.

Day 1: Pray That They Will Know Jesus

Scripture to Read

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

Things to Remember

  1. Your greatest hope for your child is not simply that they are successful, safe, happy, or well behaved. It is that they know Jesus.
  2. You can teach them about God, bring them to church, and model faith for them, but only God can transform their heart.

Prayers to Pray

  1. Jesus, help them know You. Open their eyes to see who You are and draw them into a genuine relationship with You.
  2. Jesus, help them love You. May their faith become more than knowledge, tradition, or something inherited from our family.
  3. Jesus, help them follow You. Give them a lifelong desire to trust You, obey You, and walk with You.
