Serve people in our community

Foster Ministry

Our Foster Ministry seeks to call the body of Christ to action in the foster care crisis. “Everyone Can Do Something!”

There are different levels of involvement:

  • Champions: meet the needs of  families who are fostering.
  • Friends:  come alongside those who are fostering by helping meet immediate needs such as babysitting, providing meals, and praying.
  • Mentors:  speak into the lives of youth transitioning out of the foster system.  One-on-one and group setting mentoring available.
  • Families: become a foster family to a child in need of a home. We can help connect you and get you started.

Angel Threads Boutique at outREACh Tuesdays

Angel threads sorts & distribution

Our Angel Threads Boutique Ministry serves individuals by providing “like-new” clothing during our OutREACH Tuesday Events.

The Angel Threads Boutique is the first and third Tuesday of every month.

To register as a shopper/guest:

Email: Angelthreads@calvarywestlake.org

Phone- 818-575-2290

Once you receive a message, a volunteer from the Boutique will reach out to schedule an appointment.

OutREACH guests call for appointments and our team sets up a pop-up shop tailored to the specific needs of their family.  Prayer and encouragement are big parts of this ministry.

Handyman Ministry

Our Handyman Ministry exists to help elderly, disabled, low income and house-bound individuals in need of minor household repairs and projects.

Needs include:

Household projects and repairs, plumbing and electrical work, minor carpentry and painting.

If you are handy and have a desire to use your skills to serve others, this is the ministry for you! When you sign up, you will begin to receive occasional emails with specific need requests. You may choose the projects within your “wheelhouse” by replying to the email. The Handyman Volunteer Coordinator will then reach out to you with more detailed information and scheduling.

Seasoned Adults Ministry

Our Seasoned Adults Ministry utilizes the skills and experience attained through the years, and matches those skills with service opportunities.

This ministry also builds friendships with Calvary Members who are unable to leave their homes.  We share the love of Christ through friendships and acts of kindness.

Companion Volunteer:

Encourage those who feel isolated or abandoned and who otherwise might not hear or feel the love of Christ through cards, calls and visits.

For more information, please contact Pastor Dick at Dick.Thompson@calvarywestlake.org.

The REACH Group

Volunteer Opportunities.

Our REACH GROUP is the entry point for getting involved in serving in our community. It exists to help individuals and our ministry partners through acts of kindness.

Service opportunities vary greatly.  We serve in response to natural disasters, the pandemic, and meeting the needs of our ministry partners and individuals in crisis.

As needs arise, you’ll receive emails detailing the need.  You may choose to sign-up for projects that are of interest to you.

When you join, you will also receive the Calvary Mission Newsletter.

Blankets and Sewing Ministry

Watch the Church Bulletin for details on the Introductory Meetings.

Our Blanket and Sewing Ministry works alongside our local and global partners to provide handmade blankets, quilts and other items to those in need.  It’s fellowship with a purpose!

Come meet people who care about the welfare of others and who want to use their time and talents to bless others. Praying for our ministry partners and the individual recipients of our blankets is an important part of this ministry.
