Spiritual Care and Counseling

  • Changes that Heal–Understanding your past for healthier future.
  • Hiding from Love–Learn how to change the withdrawl patterns that isolate and imprison you.
  • Boundaries--Taking control of your life and saying ‘no’ when you need to.

  • Loving People–Show you that love can actually be learned, and gives you the steps and tools to become skilled in love.

Support & Recovery Groups

Calvary offers a variety of support and recovery groups. These groups are meant to be a safe place to take steps towards healing. If you would like to get connected to a support or recovery group, please contact the person listed for that group.

DivorceCare: Don’t go through separation or divorce alone. In DivorceCare, you will learn how to heal from the deep hurt of divorce and discover hope for your future. Information about Fall 2021 Session coming soon.

DivorceCare for Kids: Are your kids angry, hurt, and confused about your divorce? DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K) group is a safe, fun place where your children can learn skills that will help them heal. Ages 5-12. Information about Fall 2021 Session coming soon.

For Women – Betrayal and Beyond: Healing from Broken Trust

Do you need a safe and supportive place to navigate the devastating effects of pornography, adultery or trauma caused by ongoing sexual betrayal in your marriage?
This confidential class offers women hope and healing from the devastating effects of a partner’s sexual betrayal. Utilizing God’s Word, women are provided a safe and supportive group to share their painful experiences, and curriculum to help move beyond the pain. This 9-month course will cover topics such as: the impact of relational trauma, understanding the signs of sexual addiction, creating healthy boundaries, grief and loss, forgiveness and restoration.

Growing Beyond Betrayal will provide a safe place for women who have completed the Betrayal and Beyond curriculum and who are interested in continuing their own personal recovery toward healing, growth and repair. Contact the Care Center at 818.575.2267.

Men Are Giving up Porn Because of This…
In this 12-week class, you will learn to live free of porn through the proven strategies and practical tools taught in the Conquer Series.  For more information on this class, please contact the Care Center at 818.575.2267.

Pure Desire – Seven Pillars of Freedom: Ongoing classes for men who are overcoming sexual addiction.  Prerequisite to this course is the Conquer Series. Contact the Care Center for more information at 818.575.2267.

The Genesis Process: this class is third in the series of Men’s sexual purity courses. Prerequisites to this class are the Conquer Series and the Seven Pillars of Freedom. For more information call the Care Center at 818.575.2267.

This is a 13-week course that offers the opportunity to process the death of a loved one with others who are dealing with the same stages of grief. Post-Abortion Support Group
A safe group for women who need to experience God’s healing and forgiveness post-abortion. Class meets at the Ohana Health Clinic. Cost is $10 for the book. Contact: OHC at 805.373.1222. Ask for Tricia Williams.

Hospital/Home-bound Visitation

Calvary offers visitation for those who are in hospitals, rehabs, and those who are home-bound. Our Care Center offers Visitation Chaplains, lay ministers, and pastors to visit. If you’d like us to visit a loved one in the hospital, we would be honored to do so. We will connect with the patient first to confirm. Contact Pastor Mack Braden 818.575.2228.

Funerals & Memorials

We know it is incredibly difficult to lose someone you love, and we are here to help support you through the grief process. Please consider our GriefShare Support Group. Calvary is available to help plan a meaningful funeral or memorial service. 

Calvary also has a team of lay ministers and pastors to officiate at funerals based on their availability. To speak to someone about a memorial service, please call the Care Center at 818.575.2267.

Marriage Resources

Counseling Opportunities
Calvary offers short term pastoral caregiving and lay caregiving for members of the church family. Calvary also has an in-depth referral library of Christian counselors. For more information contact the Care Center at 818.575.2267.

Marriage Prep Class
Calvary offers an eight-week course for those preparing for engagement or marriage. This course helps couples build a healthy foundation by developing a biblical understanding of marriage. We teach through topics such as communication, conflict resolution, finances, compatibility, expectations, sex, and much more. The Marriage Prep Class is offered three times each year. Class is held on Sundays from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Cost: $80 per couple. For more information, contact the Care Center at 818.575.2267. Please check back in the Fall of 2021 for this class.

We are honored to provide our facilities for weddings to Calvary members. Weddings in our facilities are to be performed by a Calvary Pastor. On special occasions, an outside Pastor may join with a Calvary Pastor in performing the ceremony. In order to get married at Calvary, couples must also attend our eight-week Marriage Prep class.

Care Ministry Corner
Care Representatives are available after each worship service at our “Care Ministry Corner” in the lobby to provide resources, a listening ear, and prayer. You can find us across from Pastor Shawn in the lobby, next to the men’s room.

Care Partners
Every Saturday and Sunday, there are people who would love to hear your story and pray for you. You can find the Care Partners at the front of the auditorium after every worship gathering.

Care Partners are committed to helping individuals navigate current challenges and transitions in a Godly way. Care Partners connect with individuals in a safe, one-on-one confidential environment. Is God calling you to consider becoming a Care Partner? Our next Care Partner training begins on September 27. It will run for seven weeks on Zoom.
