Sunday Worship Services

Join us to connect with other students, play games, and worship God together through music and biblical teaching.  
 

Our 9am and 11am Sunday services are in the MSM room, and for those that can’t attend in-person,  we live-stream our 11am worship service on our Calvary MSM YouTube channel.

 Each service we have new students joining us for the first time, so you aren’t alone if you haven’t been to MSM before!  Find any of our leaders wearing an MSM T-shirt or badge to get connected.

MSM Small Groups

Calvary’s middle school small groups will begin September 16th and meet on Wednesdays in the middle school room from 5:30-7:15pm.

Each week, students hang out with friends as they open their Bibles together, exploring how God’s Word changes the way they live! All groups are led by MSM staff and vetted (background checked & fingerprinted) volunteers.  Registration is free and open throughout the year.

Friday Night Function

Friday, September 18th is our first Friday Night Function of the school year.  From 6-7:30pm, middle school students can play games, eat dinner (and a sweet treat or three!), and hang out in a fun, welcoming space with their friends while making new ones.

Costume Party

Our annual costume party is on Saturday,  October 24th in the middle school room. For the last few years, this has been the biggest event of the year in MSM, where almost 300 students have joined us for a super fun silent disco costume party.  We will have plenty of games, candy, pizza, prizes, and exciting surprises.  Students are encouraged to bring a friend whether they believe in Jesus or not, and dressing in costume is not mandatory.  Cost: $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

Foundation Journal

The Firm Foundation Journal is a tool for students to obey the words of Jesus in Luke 6:46-49. Jesus tells us that those who go to him, listen to his words, and do what he says will be like a house built on a firm foundation that can weather any storm! We know that for many students, they either do not know what to read, and if they do read they might become confused. This journal should help solve both those issues as they are guided through the word of God each day with space to reflect on what they read. If they get confused, they can talk with our leadership or other students, because we are all working through this together.

Baptisms

Calvary holds baptisms in our lobby each Sunday after the 9am & 11am services.  If your student would like to be baptized, please email Pastor Connor at connor.johnson@calvarywestlake.org. He will then walk alongside you and your student to discuss any questions you might have about baptism in the Christian faith and as practiced here at Calvary.  Once you, your student, and leaders agree that they have a clear understanding of the meaning of baptism, they are invited to be baptized the next Sunday, or whenever convenient for your family. We will also hold baptisms on August 2nd at 5pm in our Summer Camp Celebration Service, and on September 27th at the beach.

Volunteer in MSM

Come serve with us! There are opportunities to serve on Sunday service at 9 or 11am, MSM events, and as a small group leader. Fill out the form and we will be in contact with you on how to best use your gifts to serve our middle schoolers.

Day 1: Pray That They Will Know Jesus

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

Things to Remember

  1. Your greatest hope for your child is not simply that they are successful, safe, happy, or well behaved. It is that they know Jesus.
  2. You can teach them about God, bring them to church, and model faith for them, but only God can transform their heart.


Prayers to Pray

  1. Jesus, help them know You. Open their eyes to see who You are and draw them into a genuine relationship with You.
  2. Jesus, help them love You. May their faith become more than knowledge, tradition, or something inherited from our family.
  3. Jesus, help them follow You. Give them a lifelong desire to trust You, obey You, and walk with You.
