Marriage Workshop

Join us on Friday, July 17th from 6:30pm–8:00pm for a meaningful Marriage Workshop where you’ll learn practical ways to create healthy structure in your marriage. Healthy marriages are strengthened through intentional rhythms, shared priorities, and a commitment to growing together. Join us for this practical and encouraging workshop as we explore how creating healthy structure in your marriage can deepen connection, strengthen communication, and help you navigate life as a team.

Whether you have been married for a few years or many decades, you’ll gain valuable tools to establish rhythms, priorities, and habits that foster a thriving, Christ-centered relationship.

This workshop will be led by Rick and Karen Shurtz, licensed Christian marriage and family therapists. Don’t miss this opportunity to invest in your marriage.

The cost is $20 a couple or $10 for individuals, and light refreshments will be provided. Reserve your spot by Tuesday, July 14th. Childcare will be available for this workshop for a small fee.

marriage Counseling

Calvary offers short term pastoral caregiving and lay caregiving for members of the church family. Calvary also has an in-depth referral library of Christian counselors.

For more information contact the Care Center at 818.575.2267.

Weddings

We are honored to provide our facilities for weddings to Calvary members. Weddings in our facilities are to be performed by a Calvary Pastor. If a member has an outside Pastor they would like to do their wedding, Calvary’s Care Pastor would need to approve them. In order to get married at Calvary, couples must also attend our nine-week Marriage Prep class or do pre-marital counseling with a Christian Therapist or Pastor, that is equivalent. For planning your wedding service, please call Calvary’s Facility Coordinators first. They will look at your proposed wedding date and help you book the proper rooms.

If you have questions about a wedding at Calvary, please contact the Care Center at 818.575.2267 or email Megan Talbot at megan.talbot@calvarywestlake.org

Marriage essentials seminars

Whether you and your spouse can both attend, or just one of you, we would love to have you join us as we encourage each other to develop Christ-honoring marriages.

Join us for our seminars in 2022. The new schedule is to be announced in December.

Day 1: Pray That They Will Know Jesus

Scripture to Read

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

Things to Remember

  1. Your greatest hope for your child is not simply that they are successful, safe, happy, or well behaved. It is that they know Jesus.
  2. You can teach them about God, bring them to church, and model faith for them, but only God can transform their heart.

Prayers to Pray

  1. Jesus, help them know You. Open their eyes to see who You are and draw them into a genuine relationship with You.
  2. Jesus, help them love You. May their faith become more than knowledge, tradition, or something inherited from our family.
  3. Jesus, help them follow You. Give them a lifelong desire to trust You, obey You, and walk with You.
