Unity Results in Growth
So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.
Acts 6:7
In verse 7, Paul shares that when the church was unified – they were taking care of both the Hellenistic and the Hebraic widows – the word of God spread. While Satan would love to distract the church, divide the church, and destroy the church, the outcome of their obedient unity was profound – “the number of disciples…increased rapidly.” That is both amazing and encouraging!
It is wonderful that you are in a community with other believers. We don’t grow in isolation; we grow when we are intentionally investing in life-giving relationships with one another in the body of Christ. We were designed to need Him and to need others. It is through relationships, and the way we engage with one another, that we can experience more of who God is and all God has for us. If you are not connected in meaningful relationships with a few other brothers and sisters in Christ here at Calvary, ask God to help you find those friendships through small groups, ministry teams, classes, or some other ministry at Calvary.
Please continue to pray for unity in our body at Calvary, in our local churches, and the larger body of Christ worldwide. Pray that our unity will draw many around us to faith in Christ and together, God will grow His church and expand the Kingdom of God!
