THE PRESENCE OF GOD
I am so thankful that sin does not separate us from the Lord’s goodness. I simply cannot imagine walking through life without the blessed assurance that God’s grace and goodness do not abandon us when life becomes unbearable because of our sin or the sins of others.
Despite Joseph’s imprisonment, Scripture makes it clear that the Lord did not abandon him. The Lord remained with Joseph in prison, showing him kindness and granting him favor with the prison warden. God continued to pave a way forward for this man of God, even during hardship. Joseph’s story reminds us that God’s presence does not prevent hardship, but it sustains and repositions us through it. Sin carries real consequences in our lives; yet God’s faithfulness remains with those who remain faithful to Him. Joseph is a powerful example of that truth.
Prayer: Sovereign God, help me take sin seriously in my life. I desire to walk in integrity. When I face trials because of that choice, remind me of your presence and sustain me by your grace. Amen.
