Urban Promise Los Angeles (UPLA) – Canoga Park

Friday August 5th

UPLA provides urban children and youth with the support needed to succeed academically, grow spiritually and develop into leaders who can bring positive change to their communities. 

We need volunteers to help during UPLA’s annual carnival for kids. Everything from face painting, arts & crafts, manning a booth.

James Storehouse – Backpack Drive

Saturday August 6th *Registration full*

From cribs to college, James Storehouse serves kids in foster care. 

We need volunteers to purchase needed backpacks and supplies for Back to School. 

Also, we need volunteers to fill the backpacks the day of the event.

The dates for opportunities listed below are up to your group. We will work with you and the organizations / individuals to find a date that works best for both of you. 

Gabriel’s house

Date tbd (you or your group can determine a date that works for you!)

Gabriel’s House seeks to end the cycle of homelessness by encouraging, equipping, and empowering the women and children residents of Gabriel’s House.

Provide a meal one time per month and possibly invite the residents to join in the cooking!

Cupboard Cleaning & Vertical Blinds

Date tbd (you or your group can determine a date that works for you!)

Help a Calvary member with some deep cleaning.

Seeking two ladies to come and help clean. You choose the date!

Embrace Ministries

Date TBD

This ministry brings church to the Migrant Farm Workers and their children within our county many of whom have never heard the Gospel!

Calvary’s Angel Threads ministry will be traveling to Oxnard to help families with their clothing needs. We need volunteers to help organize and distribute clothing at the location.
