SIMPLICITY OF OUR PRAYER
To read today: Luke 18:9-14
Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility, perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger.
Zephaniah 2:3

Our key verse, Zephaniah 2:3, tells us to “seek the Lord and make our humble prayer in His presence.” This may have sounded bizarre to the people of Judah. They were used to making grand offerings to false gods with rules, regulations, and extravagance. It was a radical shift in their religious practices but necessary if they were to return to the Lord—in humility.
As you seek the Lord today, approach your prayers with a humble heart. You don’t have to use big, fancy words to impress your Heavenly Father. Approach the Lord with a light heart and speak to Him as you would a close friend.
Final Thought: How can you approach the Lord with humility and joy as you truly seek Him?
