Short-Term trips can provide meaningful opportunities for you to learn, grow, experience and share the love of Jesus when you make yourself available to serve. Each year Calvary sends teams to many places around the world working alongside our ministry partners and supported missionaries to help share the hope of the Gospel in both Word and Deed. We hope you will consider joining one of our teams and see how God will work in and through you to accomplish His plans and purposes. The world is waiting!

GCH Catherine Kids

Mexico

Catherine’s Kids (formerly Grace Children’s Home)

Date: September 25-26, 2021
Cost: $135 adult / $85 children 18 & under (must be accompanied by adult)

Catherine’s Kids (formerly known as Grace Children’s Home) is a ministry and place of refuge for orphaned, neglected, or abused children just outside Tijuana, Mexico. At the end of 2019, GCH joined with Catherine’s Kids (a special needs orphanage in Rosarito, Mexico). Calvary sends teams to serve at Catherine’s Kids to first and foremost show the love of Christ to the children and be an encouragement to the staff. Weekend trips include relational time with the children in the boys and girls homes (most of whom speak English), games, crafts and pizza parties. At the special needs home, teams also have relational time with the children by playing games and spending quality time together. The teams also help with any projects that need to be completed on the property. Sponsors have the opportunity to visit their child and celebrate milestones and trips offer an opportunity for greater relational connections. Catherine’s Kids trips are a great opportunity for individuals or families wanting to take a first step into missions.

Bolivia

Children’s Ministry
Dates:  June 21-27, 2023
Cost: $1,900 per person 

Calvary is headed to Bolivia to visit our partner Derek Fowler.  Derek Fowler is the director of Ruth’s House, a loving home with a live-in guardian who helps guide young women in Christ to become spiritually, emotionally, and financially self-reliant while they pursue their educational and vocational goals. 

We are excited to have Graciela Alba Spence who directed Talita Cumi, a ministry that strives to see children and adolescents develop holistically to reach their God-given potential,  lead this trip along with her husband Todd Spence. The trip will entail running a VBS ministry while being introduced to the work God is doing at Ruth’s House and Talita Cumi in Bolivia.

Poland

Family English Camp • Relational 
Dates: July 12th-23rd
Cost: $2,500 per person

 

Calvary will be sending a team to run a camp that allows guests to be taught and introduced to the Gospel as they practice their English in a fun and safe environment.  This trip needs individuals particularly able to take care of children and adults.  Our partner and friend Bogdan Jachym with International Messengers will be our host and provide our team on site support for this week of camp.  This is a trip this is open for 18 years old and above.

Baton Rouge, LA

Angola Prison 
Awana Lifeline • Prison Ministry
Dates: May, 2022
Cost: $1,400 per person 

In partnership with Malachi Men and Awana Lifeline, our Calvary team helps support Prison ministries including Hannah’s Gift (Women’s Prison) Graduation and Returning Hearts Celebration at Angola Prison.  Returning Hearts Celebration, is an event that unites children with their fathers for an unforgettable day of games, food, relationship building and Bible teaching. One day each year, these fathers can be ‘real’ parents to their kids. Children are invited to come and spend the day with their father’s, who often use the time to share with their children about Jesus.  Most importantly, they have the opportunity to reconcile with their children by asking their forgiveness and inviting them to accept Christ’s offer of salvation. This begins the healing process, breaking the power of sin and the cycle of crime. Short-term trip participants serve by coming alongside one dad and his child/children to assist throughout the day!

Uganda

God Cares Schools • Buyamba 
Medical Trip
Dates: June 29th-July 9th
Cost: $3,600 per person 

Buyamba is a non-profit organized to support the orphaned and disadvantaged children of Uganda.   We will come alongside the needs of these communities by providing essential medical care for the community connected to Buyamba.  The team also spends time at God Cares Primary and High School leading chapel services, encouraging teachers and staff, and spending relational time with the students.  This trip is seeking Medical Professionals and those who are able to do physical labor on site.

Israel / Palestine

Musalaha Ministry of Reconciliation 
Camp • Children’s Ministry • VBS 
Dates: July 19th-July 30th (Young Adults)
Cost: $3,000 per person

Our group will be serving at a youth camp led by our ministry partner, Musalaha Ministry of Reconciliation. This non-profit seeks to promote reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians as demonstrated in the life and teaching of Jesus. They endeavor to be an encouragement and advocate of reconciliation, first among Palestinian and Israeli believers, and then beyond to their respective communities. Musalaha also aims to build bridges among different segments of society according to biblical reconciliation principles. The youth camp brings children ages 6-14 together for a week of fun activities helping them grow in their relationships with God and one another. Our team serves as camp counselors and leads different activities throughout the week. This trip also includes a few day trips of touring the Holy Land.  This trip is for Young Adults (18-30 or so) years old.

Mexico Ensenada Trip

Mt. Zion Church – VBS trip

Date: August 24th-26th

Cost: $150 adult / $85 children 18 & under 
(must be accompanied by an adult)

Calvary partners with Mt. Zion Church and Mimi Ojeda’s family in Ensenada, Mexico to help engage their community for Christ. Mt. Zion is a light and place of refuge for many in the community of Bella Vista.  This year we will be partnering with our friends to put on a VBS which incorporates many of the same songs, messages, crafts, and activities that we offer here at Calvary! This is a great trip for all ages, especially those who have not participated in an international trip before.

Mt. Zion Church – Shoebox trip

Date: December 16th-18th

Cost: $150 adult / $85 children 18 & under 
(must be accompanied by an adult)

Calvary partners with Mt. Zion Church and Mimi Ojeda’s family in Ensenada, Mexico to help engage their community for Christ. Mt. Zion is a light and place of refuge for many in the community of Bella Vista. We are going back this Christmas season to deliver the Christmas Shoeboxes that our Calvary Church family will assemble for the children at Mt. Zion Church and villages connect to the church. This is a family friendly trip and great opportunity for those new to international trips.
