REJOICE IN RECONNECTION

The search eventually leads to reunion. The moment is precious because the relationship matters deeply. The pursuit was worth the wait, and the reward is great. Not every point of reconnection stems from a complete or partial estrangement or argument. Often, the type of disconnection in marriages and families is subtle and develops over time. A lost connection sometimes goes unnoticed until you reconnect and remember what it’s supposed to feel like. When we pursue a relationship with our family and reconnect, there is a deep satisfaction that almost can’t be described. It’s a heart-happiness.

Reconnection may not look dramatic. It may be a simple, peaceful conversation, a shared meal that felt unhurried, a restored tradition that had gone by the wayside for too many years, or a simple realization that resentment has begun to soften, even a little. Every step toward connection and intentional pursuit should be celebrated.

This week invites reflection on how you can make it easier for your family to feel safe in their pursuit. Are you noticing small disconnections and addressing them before they escalate? What hurt or expectation do you need to release so you can reenter a close space with gratitude and joy?

This week, listen to your family more than you speak. Ask the Lord to give you every opportunity to reconnect with those you love, and to remind you to treasure them with grace, patience, and love.
