Receive Comfort, Give Comfort
Scripture to read today: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; 1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
When we have gone through challenging or painful situations in life, we can develop a natural empathy and a deeper understanding of people experiencing similar hardships. Similarly, because God chose to come to earth in human flesh, He knows exactly what it is like to be hungry, tired, misunderstood, sad, lonely, betrayed, tempted, and unjustly persecuted. Jesus invites us to cast our cares, anxieties, worries, and fears upon Him, not only because He cares for us, but because He knows what we are going through.
When we bring our fears, suffering, and disappointments to Jesus, He offers us comfort, grace, and peace. He helps us through the challenging circumstances and holds us through the difficult emotions that accompany them. Once we have embraced God’s hope and healing into our lives, we can share it with others. As God helps us move past our places of pain, we can help others by pointing them to Jesus and the peace that only He can provide.
Has God comforted you during a difficult time? Share the story with a friend who needs to hear your testimony of hope and encouragement.
