Ohana Picnic & Walk for Life

Saturday, August 15th

The Ohana Health pregnancy clinic is a faith-based non-profit specializing in pregnancy confirmation and helping those facing unintended pregnancy explore their options.

In need of:

  • face painters/temporary tattoos (4)
  • bounce house monitors (6)
  • walk monitors/crossing guards (6)
  • hydration team (4-6 people at 2 different tables along the route)

Harbor House Lunches of Luv

Various times available (see below)

Help serve the unhoused and low-income families through Calvary’s partnership with Harbor House

Every week, Calvary volunteers make 60 bagged lunches and drop them off with Harbor House. This summer, we need more volunteers to help. Would you consider making a bagged lunch of PB&J or plain turkey, coupled with a power bar and a small piece of fresh fruit? Lunches can be made ahead of time and stored before delivery.

Drop off lunches at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesdays between 4 and 4:30 p.m.

Urban Promise los angeles (upla) – canoga park

UPLA, a Calvary partner, provides urban children and youth with the support needed to succeed academically, grow spiritually, and develop into leaders who can bring positive change to their communities. 

Urban Promise Los Angeles is seeking volunteers for its 5-week summer camp for kids ages 5-13. Camp dates are June 29 – July 31 2026. UPLA is excited to provide meaningful opportunities for individuals, families, and groups to serve alongside us and make a direct impact in the lives of children and youth in the Canoga Park community.

Dates & Times:

  • Summer Camp starts Monday, June 29 and ends on Friday, July 31. Summer Camp takes place daily, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:00pm

Day 1: Pray That They Will Know Jesus

Scripture to Read

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3

Things to Remember

  1. Your greatest hope for your child is not simply that they are successful, safe, happy, or well behaved. It is that they know Jesus.
  2. You can teach them about God, bring them to church, and model faith for them, but only God can transform their heart.


Prayers to Pray

  1. Jesus, help them know You. Open their eyes to see who You are and draw them into a genuine relationship with You.
  2. Jesus, help them love You. May their faith become more than knowledge, tradition, or something inherited from our family.
  3. Jesus, help them follow You. Give them a lifelong desire to trust You, obey You, and walk with You.
