LOOK UP, NOT DOWN!

To read today: Romans 8:31-39

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Romans 8:34

Chances are that today you’ve had a moment or two being tough on yourself, but not the kind of “tough” that sanctifies or makes you more like Jesus. It’s the “tough” that pulls your soul downwards and accuses you of all kinds of things. We know none of us are perfect, but Jesus died for all of that. I believe the enemy is a thief trying desperately to rob us of our joy in Christ. If we can identify the kind voice of Jesus leading us to repentance versus the confusing voice of accusation, we will draw closer to the Lord.

The truth of Christ being raised to life and interceding for us should lift our spirits; He is on our side. Jesus is all-knowing, and His prayers on our behalf are precisely what we need. Indeed, there is cause and effect in life which produce earthly consequences. However, I believe Paul is speaking about the heavenly realm and the battle for our freedom in Christ. I pray you are bursting with joy today with all of the possibilities ahead of you because Jesus wants you to experience the hope found in Him.

Lord, please help us to discern those voices of condemnation that are not of You so we can lift the eyes of our hearts towards heaven, where You are interceding on our behalf. Thank You for the peace found in a life with You!
