IMAGE BEARERS SERVE
To read today:
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
God serves others and, as image bearers, wants us to do the same. He’s set it up so that serving others accomplishes almost everything He wants for us. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus tells His disciples, “Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Because Jesus gave Himself up as the ultimate sacrifice for us, we are also called to serve others. We have the responsibility and opportunity to show the love of Christ by serving other people.
Put simply: Saved people serve people so that served people can become saved.
Think of the ripple effect in the Conejo Valley and beyond if our church body would step into serving by using our gifts and, in doing so, ultimately share Christ with others.
1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Final thought: Pray for guidance and direction on where you can get plugged into serve. Our discipleship classes can help launch you into learning more about your walk with Christ, and eventually, you’ll learn what your spiritual gifts are and how God can use you to serve others.
