I love that the Lord’s compassion for us is new every morning. It’s similar to the hope we have for the coming sunrise. I don’t know about you, but when I think and pray about things late at night, some of the issues feel larger and more daunting. Then the morning comes, and it’s a new day. While the issues remain, I feel some of their weight lifted. The Lord’s compassion never fails us; His mercies are new every morning. It’s amazing how true this is.

This past week, Pastor Shawn and I had the opportunity to meet with several religious community leaders at Los Robles Hospital. During our time together, we witnessed some incredible examples of compassion and love. One of my favorite moments was when Rabbi Shlomo Bistritzky shared a moving story of encouragement. He told the story of a gentleman in the Conejo Valley who pulled his car over, rolled down the window, and said he was praying for the rabbi and his people.

While it was a simple moment, it profoundly impacted the rabbi, who shared how lonely it can feel when you are hurting. He was deeply moved. He lovingly shared that while we all have our differences, we were all created in God’s image, and we need to experience more of this compassion. That time together had a tremendous impact on both of us. Later that day, I learned that Pastor Shawn felt led to change the entire sermon series. It’s an honor to work with a senior pastor who sincerely prays about the Lord’s leading of our congregation.

Final Thoughts: It’s important for me to remember that no matter what I’m facing today, tomorrow is a new day, and with it comes the unfailing new mercies from the Lord.
