GOD MEANT IT TO BE KIND
To read today: Ephesians 4:25-32
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Eph 4:31-32

Good, old-fashioned kindness is a powerful Biblical principle. Kindness is often thought of as a sort of “nice” quality. Kindness doesn’t feel strong to us in our culture. When you look at what the scriptural concept of kindness is, it is very strong. Kindness is not just the absence of meanness or anger; being kind takes strength from the Holy Spirit. Kindness is the result after one listens to The Spirit and rids themselves of all types of evil.
In the life of the believer, kindness gives life; it goes above and beyond; it forgives and shows compassion. Being kind is truly “living and loving like Jesus.” Our families and our church could be revolutionized by simple kindness. Jesus was simply kind.
Reflection: Think of one person you haven’t been kind to. Ask for their forgiveness, then be kind.
