EVANGELISM – THREE PRACTICAL THOUGHTS
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus sends us out daily with a very important command from Matthew 28. He expects us to share the good news of the Gospel wherever we go. The scripture calls us, as we are going – as we are living – to share Jesus. How do we do that? Here’s a few simple thoughts:
- Strive to live and love like Jesus – Your example earns you the right to be heard. Honestly, in every experience throughout the day, consider what Jesus would do. When the world shows anger, malice, or judgment, bring grace, understanding, and mercy. People notice and become more open when we try to live and love like Jesus. Living like Jesus around others means showing His love to everyone, even those who treat us poorly (Matthew 5:43-48).
- Brag about the Lord – Sometimes, telling people about Jesus is as easy as telling them what He’s done or is doing in your life. Bragging about His kindness and mercy can lead to all sorts of conversations (Psalm 105:1-6). Allowing others to hear stories about your transformed life might lead others to want the same experience. When we brag about God, we praise Him for who He is.
- Know the Word? Right? No one knows God’s Word well enough. That’s why we write this stuff down. Scriptures on any theme or subject are easily pulled up on the internet today. I’m not advocating taking scripture out of context, but people need to hear the Word. Faith in the Person of Jesus comes from hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). John 3:16 – God’s love; He gave Jesus – Romans 3:23 – All have sinned – Romans 5:8 – Christ died for us – Romans 10:13 – If you call on the name of Jesus you will be saved. There are hundreds more!
