Discovered in Community for Community
To read today: Ephesians 4:1-16
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Ephesians 4:16
The best way to discover your gifts is to serve the Lord in community. Even today, you could ask Christian friends and family if they have noticed any spiritual gifts in your life. Sometimes we are the last people to realize our gifts because we aren’t watching ourselves. But our community is! Our community is also the people our gifts are designed to build up. The gifts and abilities the Holy Spirit equips us with are meant to be used not just for us but for others.
Thankfully, God doesn’t just give us tasks to do and say, “figure it out alone.” No, He has given us His Spirit and Christian community to accomplish His purposes together. We are not on our own. We are part of an eternal family, helping to build a Kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.
If you’re eager to figure out your gifts, find a place to serve. You can serve in any number of ministries here at Calvary or with our local mission partners. By putting yourself in a position to be used by God, you are putting yourself in a position to learn how the Lord wants to use you.

Today: Ask God what assignments He might have in store for you. Pray that He would reveal practical opportunities for you to discover and apply your spiritual gifts.
