As Lesli and I anticipate Christmas with friends and family, our hearts are filled with a mix of emotions reflecting the complexities of the world around us. This Christmas, as we celebrate the wonderful birth of our Savior, we are acutely aware of the global tensions stretching from the Middle East to the war-torn regions of Ukraine and, closer to home, the strains of political tensions and economic turbulence. In our congregation and local community, we see families overwhelmed with trials and disappointments. It seems, at times, as if the world, our community, and even our personal lives are spiraling beyond our control. In these moments of uncertainty, Christmas reminds us of a profound truth: God is authoring His eternal story of hope. It is a story of grace and joy against the backdrop of hardship and hopelessness. This Christmas, we invite you to join us in bringing the hope of God’s story to our local community and the world. We ask you to prayerfully consider what God would have you contribute to Calvary's 2023 Christmas offering. This offering is more than a donation to a worthy cause; it's an engagement in the ongoing narrative of hope and transformation through Jesus Christ, as detailed in the stories and goals enclosed in this pamphlet.
