CHANGED HEARTS REVEAL GOD’S WORK

One of the most powerful moments in Joseph’s story occurs when Judah offers himself in Benjamin’s place. Years earlier, Judah had been among the brothers who participated in selling Joseph into slavery. Now he was willing to sacrifice himself to save his younger brother. This is what genuine transformation looks like.

Joseph’s tests were never about revenge. He wanted to know whether his brothers had changed. Judah’s willingness to sacrifice himself for Benjamin answered that question.

True repentance produces real change. While none of us becomes perfect overnight, a life touched by God’s grace begins to reflect a new heart. We become more compassionate, more humble, and more willing to put others first.

Judah’s sacrificial offering also points us forward. Centuries later, a descendant of Judah would do far more than offer to take his brother’s place. Jesus would willingly take our place on the cross, bearing our guilt and our judgment so that we could receive forgiveness and life.

The evidence of God’s grace is transformation. The brothers who once sold Joseph were becoming men capable of sacrificial love.

Reflection: How have you seen God change your heart over time? Where is He still shaping you?
