No, Regional Centers cannot work directly with us to obtain camp authorizations or approvals. It is the family’s responsibility to contact your child’s service coordinator to request authorization for all the weeks you wish to attend. Once we receive authorization, we will handle the payment process directly with the Regional Center on your behalf. Usually, no additional follow-up is needed from you unless we encounter any issues. Please note that we must receive authorization before your child can attend camp.

There will be NO partial week, single-day registration, or walk-up registrations for our VIP campers. All VIP campers must complete the intake approval process with our staff. The cost covered by the Regional Center is for the full week of camp.

MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS  AND FRIDAYS:  LUNCH IS PROVIDED!
Each camper receives an entrée of their choice, fresh fruit (typically watermelon or pineapple), a chocolate chip cookie, and bottled water. Campers may choose a different entrée each day from the following options: grilled cheese (American) sandwich, fried chicken tenders, sun butter & jelly sandwich, hamburger, cheeseburger, or a rotating Bowl’d option. Bowl’d selections rotate weekly and include: pasta with marinara, pasta with alfredo, mac and cheese, orange chicken with rice, and chicken soft noodle. Lunch is made fresh daily at the Oaks Christian School Cafe. If your child has food allergies, please email us at aw@calvarywestlake.org. Please note: lunch menu is subject to change.

TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS: 
Lunch is provided on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, lunch depends on the field trip. Some trips require parents to pack a lunch, while others may ask that campers bring money for lunch and snacks. Please check the weekly parent email (sent Fridays) for details each week. Lunch is included in your registration fee for Knott’s Berry Farm and Soak City.

Extended Care will not be available for our VIP campers. The amount approved by the Regional Center has been pre-determined and does not cover Extended Care.

Whenever possible, we ask that therapists schedule services outside of camp hours. We understand that each situation is unique, so we handle these requests on a case-by-case basis. Please email us at awplus@calvarywestlake.org, and we’ll be happy to discuss it further

Behavior Expectations: “3 Strike Policy”

At Adventure Weeks, we want every camper to have a positive, fun experience while showing respect for themselves and others. We ask that campers follow the instructions from counselors and participate in activities in a safe and cooperative manner. Any behavior that poses a risk to themselves or others (whether verbal, emotional, physical, etc.) will be addressed promptly.

Here’s how our “3 Strike Policy” works:

First Incident: Verbal warning, along with documentation of the incident. A parent/guardian will be notified at pick-up.

Second Incident: A phone call to the parent/guardian to inform them of the situation.

Third Incident: A phone call to the parent/guardian requesting immediate pick-up, and the camper will be dismissed for the remainder of the week.

We want to ensure all campers have a safe and enjoyable time, and we appreciate your understanding and support in helping maintain a positive environment.

If we are able to accommodate your camper, we will contact you directly. Please make sure you have authorization from your Regional Center for any additional weeks before your camper attends, as payment may be your responsibility if authorization is not in place.
