A LIFE OF STRENGTH, WISDOM, AND COURAGE
To read today: 1 Kings 2:2-4
“I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to Him, and keep his decrees and commands, His laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.”
1 Kings 2:2-3

David’s instruction to Solomon emphasizes that prosperity is intrinsically tied to obedience to God’s commands. True success is not measured by worldly standards alone but by a life aligned with God’s wisdom. David’s call for Solomon to “be strong” is a call to courage and inner fortitude. Strength here is not just physical but also spiritual and emotional. It’s about standing firm in the face of challenges and trials.
David displayed remarkable courage throughout his life, facing giants, enemies, and personal failures. His strength came from his unwavering trust in God. This same strength is available to us through faith in Christ. Solomon would later be known for his extraordinary wisdom. In 1 Kings 3:5-14, we see God granting Solomon a discerning heart. This wisdom was a direct result of Solomon’s commitment to God and his desire to lead God’s people righteously.
Final thought: Heavenly Father, grant us the strength and courage to face the challenges of life with unwavering faith. May we draw our strength from You and only You.
